The World

In Germany, energy transition has a name: Energiewende. Germany started embracing renewable sources of energy around the year 2000 and now generates more than 40% of its electricity from renewable sources — that’s double what the US does. As part of The World’s climate solutions segment, The Big Fix, host Marco Werman speaks to InsideClimate News reporter Dan Gearino about Germany’s successes and failures, and what their experiences can teach the rest of the world.
