French winegrowers will have a tough harvest this fall — a late frost destroyed much of their crop this past spring. But some are trying to adapt to the impacts of climate change, to make their grapes more resistant to heat, drought and other climate impacts. Reporter Rebecca Rosman visits a lab in Bordeaux where scientists are experimenting with new grape varieties, and learns about other techniques, such as adjusting rootstocks and improving access to water, to make French wine more climate resilient. She also visits a vineyard where some of these new grape varietals have been growing since 2014, and does a taste test in Paris to learn how climate change, and attempts to adapt to it, is changing French wine.
