French pilot hero of Uganda hijacking remembered

The World

Michel Bacos was a pilot with Air France when his plane was hijacked in 1976 by German and Palestinian terrorists. Bacos became a hero when he remained with his Jewish passengers and refused an offer by the hijackers to be released with the non-Jewish passengers. Bacos died this week at the age of 95. Benny Davidson, who was one of the youngest hostages on the flight, shares his memories of that fateful day and of Bacos.
