France lets rescue boat dock as Italy’s new govt cracks down on immigration

A rescue ship carrying around 230 migrants had been stuck off Italy’s coast in recent days, after a new far-right government in Rome barred it from docking. France is now permitting the boat to anchor in Toulon, but has lashed out at Rome, suspending a plan to take in 3,500 refugees currently in Italy. Andrew Geddes, director of the Migration Policy Centre at the European University Institute talks with The World’s host Marco Werman about the rising tensions.
