Former Mexican defense minister exonerated

Mexican prosecutors have cleared the former defense minister, Gen. Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda, who had been arrested in the US of any accusations taking bribes in exchange for protecting drug cartel leaders. The exoneration in Mexico came as authorities there had promised US officials to bring the full weight of the Mexican justice system to bear.
