Finland leaders announce support for joining NATO

On Thursday, Finland’s president and prime minister announced their support for joining NATO. It’s a reversal of a decadeslong stance of neutrality for the Nordic country in relation to Europe’s NATO-Russia divide. Moscow was not happy about this announcement and Russia’s Foreign Ministry said it would take “retaliatory steps” in response. Host Carol Hills spoke with Anna Wieslander, director for Northern Europe at the Atlantic Council. She joined the show from Stockholm.
