Russia is becoming more isolated from the rest of the world as a result of Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine. A wide variety of sanctions are being implemented against Russia from economic sanctions, to banning Russia from sporting events. There’s also the element of culture and identity. Many Russian speakers around the globe are reexamining how they relate to Russia and the Russian language. Writer, journalist, and filmmaker, Michael Idov is one of those people.
