Fighting continues for a third day this week between Israel and the Palestinian militant faction, Islamic Jihad, in the Gaza Strip. The group has launched approximately 900 rockets into Israel, killing one Israeli so far. Meanwhile Israel’s killed at least 30 Palestinians, including several of the group’s top commanders as well as women and young children. The World’s Carolyn Beeler spoke with AP Jerusalem correspondent Isabel DeBré about the origins of Palestinian Islamic Jihad and their relationship with Hamas, the group in control of the Gaza Strip.
