Exoplanet is born in unusual way

An enormous planet about nine times the mass of Jupiter is being observed at a remarkably early stage of formation, circling a far-away star. Astronomer Nienke van der Marel of Leiden University in the Netherlands tells host Marco Werman why the discovery is upending the current understanding of how planets are formed.
