The Church of  England was founded in the 16th century under King Henry the VIII and has been the state religion ever since. But today, church attendance is at an all-time low. Seven in 10 people under the age of 30 said they don’t identify with any particular religion, and parishes across England are closing at a record rate. To turn those numbers around and attract younger members, the church has increasingly been adopting a strategy of evangelicalism.
