With wildfires raging across Europe this year, there’s been an intense need for a specialized plane, called the Canadair, to help fight the blazes. Many European countries are still using planes made in the 1970s, because the iconic firefighting airplane has been out of production. But as John Last reports from Italy, the demand has put the plane back in production, and European countries are coordinating their purchases.
