For over a week, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has appealed to European Union leaders to grant his country EU membership. On Monday, Charles Michel, the EU council president, said the issue would be discussed in the coming days. Several Central and Eastern European countries have already supported Ukraine’s bid. But as The World’s Europe correspondent Orla Barry reports, it’s far from straightforward.
