Ecuador’s Indigenous groups escalate protests

Fed up with President Guillermo Lasso’s conservative economic and social policies, Indigenous groups are blocking highways and staging major protests. They’re upset over a series of laws the government is pushing that would further jumpstart resource extraction projects, and concerned with rising costs. Michael Fox reports that with the president’s approval rating at an all-time low, the rising protests could pose a threat to his ability to stay in office.
