Earliest Japanese inventor of karoake dies at age 100

Shigeichi Negishi died from natural causes earlier this year, after a fall, according to his daughter. He was 100 years old. His “Sparko Box,” which first came on the market in 1967, is recognized as the earliest karaoke machine. Hosts Marco Werman and Carolyn Beeler have this tribute to karaoke.
