Desperate cancer patients in Peru look for options across the Atlantic

The World

In Peru, cancer patients are facing enormous challenges in being able to survive: a lack of doctors, shortage of medicine and not enough hospital beds. The situation is especially dire for children with leukemia. Many die because they couldn’t get access to treatment in time. Reporters Tibisay Zea, Abby Ardiles, and Gerry Hadden report that more and more parents are seeking help across the Atlantic Ocean.
