Back in the ’60s, Salvador Dali gifted an original painting to Rikers prison in place of his absence. He was sick. Years later, in 2003, the painting was part of an incredible — and poorly planned — heist. Marco Werman talks to reporter James Fanelli who wrote a piece in Esquire on that very heist.
