This week, Costa Rica’s president declared a state of emergency over a month of devastating cyberattacks by Conti ransomware. According to the FBI, Conti has been responsible for over $150 million in ransom payouts in recent years, making it the costliest documented ransomware. Host Carol Hills spoke with Allan Liska, a ransomware researcher at Recorded Future, which is a cybersecurity company based in the US. He joins us from Stanford, California.
