Genetic testing has allowed Jean Kapenda, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, to track down his cousin, Boston resident Aiyana Lakes. Host Marco Werman talks with Kapenda and Lakes, as well as Lakes’ mother and son during their first ever in person meeting. They discuss the long legacy of slavery and its aftermath for extended families.
