Coronavirus in sewage

The World

The coronavirus has been found in human sewage. Contrary to early hopes, it’s now known to multiply in the human gut. A new study in the Netherlands found that sewage surveillance could be used as an early warning tool for detecting and tracking outbreaks. Host Marco Werman speaks with Gertjan Medema, one of the authors of the report and a professor at the KWR Water Research Institute.
