Christmas lottery

The World

Every year, Spain has a Christmas lottery, called “El Gordo” or “The Fat One.” Natalia Escudero, a journalist for Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE, was covering the El Gordo lottery when she found out that she was also one of the winners. She quit her job on live TV only to soon find out that her winnings were only about $5,500 — not the millions she imagined.
