After growing up during China’s chaotic Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and ‘70s, the self-described global artist Yun-Fei Ji landed in New York City in the 1990s, where he expanded his art practice while paying homage to his upbringing. Living between two worlds, Ji produces paintings using traditional Chinese methods, such as calligraphy and ink painting, to address serious contemporary topics such as migration, the environment and other social issues. Yun-Fei Ji joins The World’s host Carol Hills to detail his journey of being a widely-exhibited global artist.
