China’s president makes surprise visit to TIbet

China’s President Xi Jinping has made a surprise visit this week to the contested, autonomous region of Tibet. The visit comes as the region witnessed massive economic development, as well as, recent border clashes with neighboring India. The World’s Marco Werman spoke with Robert Barnett, an expert on Tibet and research associate at the School of Oriental Studies in London, to understand the significance of this visit.
