The UN Commission on Population and Development says education is under threat across the globe. The commission reported this week that nearly 70% of children in developing countries struggle with basic literacy. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks with Lawrence Aber, a professor of psychology and public policy at New York University, about the factors behind this trend as well as the short- and long-term consequences.
