Ceasefire set to begin in Sudan amid back-and-forth fighting in Darfur and Khartoum

The war between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces has spread across Sudan. Violence is concentrated in western Darfur and the capital, Khartoum. The UN envoy who was helping to mediate the conflict was told he is no longer welcome in Sudan. Nonetheless, a new ceasefire agreement is set to start tomorrow.
