Canadian First Nation author inspires kids to learn about their culture in new book

When Ren Louie was growing up in Victoria, British Columbia, he didn’t get to read many children’s books about Indigenous people. This lack of representation led to him feeling disengaged with reading. Now in his early 20s, Louie has taken it upon himself to change that. His debut children’s book is called “Drum From the Heart.” The World’s Bianca Hillier reports.
