Unofficial entry points along the US-Canada border are seeing the most traffic in years. So far in 2022, more than 27,000 migrants have left the US by foot hoping to seek asylum once in Canada. That’s 30% more than all of 2017, when the Canadian government started tracking these numbers. Now, the country’s Supreme Court is deciding whether the path to protection should change. The World’s Bianca Hillier visited the border to learn more.
