“I can’t breathe.” Those were the words that haunted America in 2014 after the death of Eric Garner, a black man who died after being held in a chokehold by a New York City police officer. Now protesters in Brazil are comparing a death there with Garner’s. A Brazilian Black Lives Matter movement seems to be coalescing in response.
