Black Americans once largely fought alone against the issue of police violence on people of color. But as Somali American kids grew up in the same environment, and were also targeted, they began to join Black Lives Matter. Now, with George Floyd’s killing, even the elders in the largest Somali community in the US think it’s time to show black Americans that they are not alone. The World’s Rupa Shenoy reports.
