Tiara Darnell’s restaurant, Blaxicocina, attracts Americans and Mexicans looking for cornbread, stewed oxtails and collard greens. It’s said to be the only soul food joint in Mexico City, Mexico. The owner is an African American from Maryland who says she’s been welcomed in Mexico City. She joins others who have moved abroad to get away from the racism in the US.
