But, she’s also a former political prisoner who spent years under house arrest and an advocate for democracy, human rights and non-violence. The Myanmar government has come under international condemnation recently for jailing two Reuters journalists for violating the country’s “Official Secrets Act.” Thursday, Suu Kyi was asked about the criticism, and she dismissed it.
