Armenia and Turkey attempt to normalize relations

The World

Armenia and Turkey are planning on normalizing relations. This was announced yesterday by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. He said that the two countries will appoint special envoys and will also open up chartered flights. Ties between Armenia and Turkey have been tense over the years, especially since last year, when Turkey supported Azerbaijan’s offensive against Armenian forces in the Nagorno Karabakh war. Host Marco Werman speaks with Ani Mejlumyan, Armenia correspondent with the online publication Eurasianet.
