Aisha Ali’s incredible journey

The World

Aisha Ali’s story is a unique one about identity. Her self-discovery starts in Pittsburgh, then Los Angeles, where she became a Middle Eastern dancer. Eventually, Aisha Ali recorded music along the Nile and started her own record label. Ali tells her unlikely story in the Lost Notes podcast out of KCRW in Santa Monica. This particular episode is called “Searching for the Root: The Incredible Story of Aisha Ali.” Arshia Haq is producer of the episode, and she joined us to introduce an excerpt from Lost Notes.
