There’s an expression people have been using across China when they talk about strict COVID-19 lockdowns. “After the Party Congress,” as the expression goes, essentially means that after this week’s big Chinese Communist Party meeting in Beijing, perhaps things will get back to normal. The World’s China correspondent Rebecca Kanthor spent some time speaking with small business owners about their hopes and anxieties for the months ahead.
