As Christian evangelicals grow in number — and in their political influence — in Brazil, members of other religious traditions are feeling uneasy. Afro Brazilian religious centers have been targeted by evangelical activists. Temples have been destroyed, and icons and clergy members from Afro-Brazilian religious groups have been attacked. Many say the problem has become worse in recent years, spurred by Former President Jair Bolsonaro and the growth of evangelical churches across the country. But others, including those with the Secretariat for Religious Tolerance, for example, are fighting back. Reporter Michael Fox has the story.
