This week, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation attracted nearly every African leader to Beijing. At the meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged an extra $60 billion for Africa’s development. But there are growing concerns in the US that African countries are too indebted to China, and that China is using this debt to increase its influence on the continent in what is known as “debt-trap diplomacy.” Host Marco Werman learns more from the BBC’s Africa business editor, Larry Madowo.
