Of the 10 countries with the highest suicide rates, six are in Africa. The continent has one psychiatrist for every half a million inhabitants — 100 times less than is recommended by The World Health Organization. In response, the WHO is launching a suicide prevention campaign across Africa. The World’s host Marco Werman speaks to Dr. Florence Baingana, the WHO’s regional adviser for mental health.
