Accused men seeking redemption

While Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh defends himself against allegations of sexual misconduct, men who have faced such allegations before are trying to find a way back into the public space. Jian Ghomeshi and John Hockenberry, two former hosts of public radio shows in Canada and the US, wrote essays around the same time seeking redemption in the #MeToo era. Anna Maria Tremonti is the host of “The Current,” a radio program on the CBC in Canada. She interviewed Rick MacArthur at Harper’s about his decision to publish Hockenberry’s essay. MacArthur accused Tremonti of having a “Soviet-style tone” in their interview. Host Marco Werman talks to Tremonti about that experience and how she dedicated her whole program to the #MeToo movement on Monday.
