Women in Serbia are calling for a complete overhaul of the country’s maternity hospitals and obstetric care after details of the horrific abuse of a pregnant woman came to light. The young woman Marica Mihajlović, who is Romani, went public with the details of her case in early January. The doctor at the center of the case has been arrested but women’s rights activists say obstetric violence is a systemic problem across Serbian hospitals. The World’s Europe correspondent Orla Barry reports.
