Jupiter & Okwess hail from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Jupiter is Jupiter Bokondji, the son of a Congolese diplomat. Okwess is the name of the band. For the band’s latest album, “Na Kozonga,” some of the musical influence comes from Brazil. Carol Hills has the story.
