30 years on, France confronts role in 1994 Rwandan genocide

A report commissioned by President Emmanuel Macron concludes that France’s role before and during the 1994 Rwandan genocide was a “monumental failure” that the country must acknowledge. The French president is taking steps to do just that. As of today, the French government archives from that period have been opened to the public. Marco Werman speaks with Paris-based reporter Rebecca Rosman about what’s behind President Macron’s efforts.
