With little warning, Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega released 222 political prisoners to the United States. They landed in Washington, DC, on Thursday, to meet friends, family and supporters. Ortega said they were a national security threat. Some see the release as an overture to the Biden administration to restart relations. The World’s Carol Hills talks with María Lilly Delgado, a Nicaraguan freelance reporter who herself had to flee Ortega’s crackdown on dissidents and the press.
