Todd Akin, the Republican Congressman running for U.S. Senate, is resisting growing calls by fellow Republicans to withdraw from the race in the wake of comments on Sunday where he said women who are "legitimately raped" have ways of shutting down their own reproductive systems so they don't get pregnant.
