The World

On Monday, a suicide bombing targeted a mosque in Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan’s northwest province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bordering Afghanistan. According to local police, over 30 people have died and 150 more injured. On social media, the head of a group known as the Pakistani Taliban claimed to have carried out the attack. The group has resumed attacks in Pakistan after it ended a ceasefire with the Pakistani government last year. The World’s Marco Werman spoke to Ismail Khan, who is on the ground in Peshawar. He’s an editor for the Pakistani newspaper Dawn.
