In Kazakhstan, Korean recipes are loved and maintained

In the 1930s, tens of thousands of Koreans were forced from their homes in the Soviet Union. Many ended up in Kazakhstan, carrying seeds and recipes with them. They called themselves the Koryo-saram, or ‘The Korean People.” Durrie Buscaren visits Almaty’s Green Bazaar, where vendors sell a variety of foods that represent the culinary heritage Koreans who call Kazakhstan home.
