In Cambodia, sophisticated cyberscam hacks that defraud victims of their money are growing through the use of trafficked victims from throughout Asia. Those trafficked are usually lured in with the promise of high-paying jobs, but find when they arrive in the country, they are trapped in an international crypto scam that they are forced to facilitate, ProPublica recently reported. Matt Friedman, founder and CEO of the Mekong Club, an anti-slavery organization based in Hong Kong, talks to The World’s Carolyn Beeler about this phenomenon.
