Over the past few years, there’s been revived interest in the Yiddish language, including now in China. The country’s top university, Peking University, is the first in China to offer a Yiddish-language course. The instructor says learning Yiddish offers her students a way to explore a different culture. The World’s Rebecca Kanthor reports from Shanghai on why students are embracing the endangered language.
