Thousands of Iranians download app helping women avoid ‘morality police’

A phone app called Gershad is in huge demand in Iran right now. Launched in 2016, it’s a mapping app allowing people in Iran, primarily women, to mark the location of the country’s morality police, so other people can avoid them. Now, the app has been updated to include the location of riot police. Tens of thousands of people have downloaded the app. The World’s Marco Werman is joined by one of the founders Firuzeh Mahmoudi, executive director of human rights group United For Iran.
