What role is the US taking in the war in Ukraine?

Russia and Ukraine have been at war now for more than 120 days. Most of the fighting is happening in the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine. Russian troops are making steady progress there. On Friday, Ukrainian troops began to retreat from Severodonetsk, a city with a prewar population of 100,000. Kyiv continues to say it needs more weapons from the West to keep up the fight. Host Carol Hills speaks with Chris Dougherty, he’s a senior ellow for the Defense Program at the Center for New American Security.
