Eritrean cyclist makes history, then suffers eye injury caused by prosecco cork

Biniam Girmay of Eritrea became the first Black African to win a stage of one of cycling’s Grand Tours. But he had to pull out of the race after a sparkling wine cork hit him in the eye on the winner’s podium. The World’s Marco Werman has the story of this reversal of fortunes.
