In southern Ukraine, the port city of Mariupol becomes a symbol of resistance

Before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Mariupol, the southern Ukrainian port city, had a population of nearly half a million. Now, there are roughly 100,000 people left. The besieged city has become a symbol of resistance during this war, as Ukrainian troops continue to push back against Russia’s assault on the city. Host Carolyn Beeler speaks with Dmytro Gurin, a Ukrainian member of parliament representing Kyiv, who grew up in Mariupol.
